I am very much looking forward to returning to the important locations of the turbulent story which is the history of the House of Stuart. For now at least, the Braes of Killiecrankie remain much as they were in 1689 when Dundee's clans swept away General Mackay's pacification army in the name of James VII (II). If you have ever stood at Glenfinnan and looked down the loch, you'll know that real sense of emotion at this famous gathering point for the clans which came out for his grandson Charles Edward fifty-six years later. 



Stand in Glencoe and feel the weight of the landscape and its dark events which happened in 1692 but are remembered to this day and still create friction in Scotland. Culloden is a site never to be forgotten and marks the near extinction of a culture and a cause. Drumossie Moor is a haunting place where it is very easy to imagine the bloody events which occurred there in 1746.We'll be doing it all again between 13th and 16th October.
